Understanding Electronic Security Systems

Course Description

This seven-hour course, followed by a one-hour examination, teaches students the basic elements of the electronic security field including sensors, control panels and communications, with an emphasis on the need for an adequate site survey.  The course stresses the importance of false alarm prevention and explores the interactions between electronic life safety/security professionals, law enforcement and fire prevention officials. (.8 CEUs)

*All technicians in the City of Milwaukee must be CAT Certified and is a prerequisite for attending the new professional Fire Alarm Design Course.
